Overview
Drink sake at a shrine? Yes — and with a guide who loves sake as much as you do.
Begin your morning in the Kobe–Nishinomiya area, part of the legendary Nada region that produces nearly 25% of Japan’s sake. This region is famous for “Miyamizu,” a special mineral-rich water that gives Nada sake its distinctive crisp and dry character.
With your sake-loving expert guide, explore three breweries and a historic sake museum to discover the traditions, tools, and fermentation techniques behind Japan’s iconic drink. Along the way, enjoy a variety of tastings made with the famous Miyamizu water, from elegant premium sake to bold local styles.
One of the highlights of the tour is a rare cultural experience at a shrine dedicated to Ebisu, the smiling god of prosperity. Here, you can raise a toast with sake inside the shrine grounds — a special moment where Japanese spirituality and drinking culture come together.
Your journey ends with a peaceful cultural finale. On weekdays, relax with freshly prepared matcha in a beautiful 150-year-old traditional house overlooking a Japanese garden. On weekends, visit the innovative Sakigake-Kura brewery, where modern ideas and traditional craftsmanship come together to shape the future of handcrafted sake.
